Well, the site’s FAQ contains a brief history ( http://snipurl.com/4a0k ) of extreme ironing that seems *fairly* credible. This Wikipedia article ( http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Extreme_ironing ) also says it’s the real deal. The sport even got a mention in The Manchester Guardian ( http://snipurl.com/4a0r ):
