According to a story published at Ananova, the fetish shop that sold Janet Jackson her Super Bowl costume is demanding that the singer fess up to altering the outfit specifically for her halftime publicity stunt. A representative of DeMask of Manhattan says that the US$256 bustier Jackson was wearing wouldn’t have ripped without substantial alteration. The company is concerned that the incident could hurt their reputation for producing quality fetish apparel.

Okay, everybody who would’ve had a clue where that outfit came from in the first place raise your hand. Don’t everybody go at once or anything, you might put someone’s eye out…

If you ask me, this is a case of DeMask jumping on the free publicity bandwagon by shoehorning its name into the first big entertainment scandal of the new year.

The Amateur Gourmet, having too much time on his hands earlier this week, whipped up a recipe for cupcakes that bear a striking resemblance to Janet Jackson’s famously exposed right breast.

This experiment in absurdist postmodern deserts not only lead to the predictable rush of interested bloggers and surfers to the Gourmet’s site, it also got the attention of the mainstream media. The very next day, CNN was asking to come over for a demonstration of the recipe. The segment was taped yesterday, and should air Monday night.
