FutureGlue is providing a nice alternative to those who can’t stomach shelling out $29 for NewsGator but would like to get their RSS feeds directly in Microsoft Outlook. IntraVnews is free for personal use.

  2. Thanks for the update, Jason. Now that MS seems to have boarded the clue train about RSS, I expect they’ll include a feed reader in the next version of Outlook anyway. Of course, you’ll have to pay over $200 to get it

I’ve also read rumors of an RSS reader being embedded in the version of Internet Explorer that will ship with Longhorn, but that’s not due until 2006.

If you’re looking for a good, free Windows newsreader I recommend RSS Bandit. It’s feature-rich, easy to use, and open source. To run it, you’ll need to download and install Microsoft’s .Net Framework.

  3. RSS Popper is also an RSS add-in for Outlook and it’s free (http://www.rsspopper.com)
