Don’t Misunderestimate Him
Jacob Weisberg is a columnist for Slate and editor of the famous “Bushisms” books — compilations of George W. Bush’s famous misstatements and malapropos*. The question Weisberg is most often asked, he says, is whether he thinks the president of the United States is really that dumb. His answer: yes and no.
In a recent article for Slate, Weisberg draws the interesting conclusion that the president is more ignorant than stupid, and that he chose ignorance from an early age as a way to rebel against and differentiate himself from his highly educated and successful father.
