Marilyn Manson to Play Jesus Christ in New Movie
According to a report in MSNBC’s gossip column, shock rocker and self-professed “Antichrist Superstar” Marilyn Manson will be playing a dope-smoking Jesus in an upcoming film by the director of “Night of the Living Dead” and the composer of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
The movie, entitled “Diamond Dead,” is about a rock band that makes a deal with Satan.

ok.
What the hell? Marilyn Manson as Jesus??? I mean are you serious? I will personally go and demolish all of the films if it is released. Jesus was the savour of many people and marilyn causes nothing but anger and destruction. hmmm lets see Jesus spreading the word of love and healing people, the man who sacrifices his life on earth to save the sins of all the people of the world- and Marilyn Manson releases songs who keep depressed kids in there black spiraling hole of sadness, feuls their fire and he murders animals on stage at concert, yip I really see the resemblence. Marilyn Manson is perfect for the part of who will represent Jesus..NOT!! I hope this is all just a stupid joke. Because that idea is completely rediculous.

Mel, you really need to calm down.
First of all, the Internet Movie Database listing for Diamond Dead classifies it as “Comedy / Fantasy / Horror / Musical.” So yes, in a sense it is a joke.
Secondly, IMDB — generally considered a definitive source of movie information — lists no cast info on this movie. Neither does Cinescape’s Development Heck, a more fast-and-loose movie gossip site. The Marilyn Manson rumor from a year ago may have been a bunch of BS, or the casting may not have panned out. Maybe Snoop Dogg will play Jesus instead; who knows.
Finally, if you don’t like the idea of Manson as Jesus just don’t see the movie. It’s that simple. This is America, where movie studios can turn out whatever vile tripe they think people will actually buy tickets to (witness Jackass: the Movie). If you’re offended by this film, vote with your wallet. If enough like-minded people do the same, Hollywood will listen.

Thats true, the world crazy is a place, where anythings goes I suppose. I just dont understand why people i.e the film crew would cast such an insane person for the part, but as you said whatever sell’s sell’s and maybe marilyn playing this part will attract “darker” minded veiwers it and it might even change there perception towards christianity. Who knows. Everything happens for a reason right?

That’s an excellent philosophy. I’m not, strictly speaking, a Christian myself. I believe Jesus was a great teacher and a holy man, but was only “the son of God” in the same sense that we are all children of God.
Nevertheless, I do have faith. I believe in an intelligent, benevolent Creator who plays an active role in human events. I believe in forces we cannot see that act upon our lives. I believe that everything does indeed happen for a reason.
Some pretty awful stuff has happened in my life recently — family health problems, home repair problems, car problems, and the death of a beloved pet just for starters. My faith has helped me remain philosophical about the troubles I’m going through and keep my head on straight. Mostly, anyway.
I’m sure Marilyn Manson playing Jesus must serve some greater purpose, even if it’s just to give people a good laugh at the absurdity of it all. Among my other beliefs, I also believe that God has a good sense of humor. How else do you explain the duck-billed platypus?

Haha to true. I declare peace on this subject. Sorry to here about your troubles though. Just keep in mind that what doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger. If I hadn’t experienced all the things I’ve had to endure through my years here, I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I’m thankful for it all at the end of the day. The glass is half full right? Good Luck Adam

Manson is the most intelligent musician out. He has gotten a point across. There are alot of sick pervs out there and he exposed them. Read his book. But don’t knock him until you understand him. Controversy Sells!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
