Referrer Spam Attack
I’d like to extend an apology to anyone who’s clicked on my “Referrers” link lately. Some porn sites with truly disgusting web addresses (involving rape, incest, and scat) have been spamming my referrer tracking system and forcing themselves to the top of the frequent referrers list. I’m going to clean out my referral tracking database this afternoon and see what I can do about filtering these scumbags in the future.
Update: The referrer logs have been de-slimed, and I’ve put in place some measures that I hope will prevent this kind of thing in the future. I plan to post an entry about that later to help others that have faced similar problems.
