Morning Linkage
A collection of odd, interesting, and amusing links to consume with your morning coffee:
- The Recovering Catholic Coloring Book — “If you bought the guilt… it’s time for a refund.”
- SpongeBob SquarePants creator denies the character’s gayness. Great, something else for Jerry Fallwell to hyperventilate about.
- Jon Stewart mocks Rumsfeld’s pitiful performance in the face of withering questions from angry soldiers in the Persian Gulf. (via Internet Weekly; Windows Media Player required)
- Because I think Colleen will get a kick out of it — modern femme fatales and pin-up girls. Some of these women are real retro memorabilia nuts, insisting on accuracy in the smallest details. Bernie Dexter, for example, seems to aim in her photos for those saturated and somewhat odd colors that are characteristic of ’40s and ’50s color film prints. (link via Bibi’s Box, which has many other links to cool retro stuff and assorted geekery)

My husband and I laughed until we cried while watching Stewart mock Rumsfeld. I think I should watch it when I’m feeling blue. It’s the instant picker upper!

Hi Bibi, thanks for stopping by.
I found you through your trackback to my entry about the etymology of w00t. How did you find me?

Mac: Stewart rules.
Ever sense he had the balls to lay the smackdown on the Crossfire boys for their partisan hackery, I’ve had a newfound respect for the man. I quit watching The Daily Show some years back, but Stewart’s humor seems to have grown more of an edge over the last four years of the Bush administration. Now I hardly ever miss it.
