New Year’s Resolutions
Welcome to 2005, everyone! Can you believe this decade is almost half over already? Kind of a crappy decade so far if you ask me, at least geopolitically speaking. Here’s hoping it starts to turn around soon.
I’m going to take this opportunity to share some of my New Year’s resolutions with the world in a lame attempt to make myself answerable to someone other than me for keeping them. Also, it’s part of one of those silly meme things. In no particular order, I resolve to:
- Lose the excess flab I acquired over the holidays by following this guy’s advice.
- Exercise more often.
- Buy a new car to replace the late Gracie.
- Learn more about CSS and PHP, raising my web development skills to the point where I can do a little moonlighting in the field. Before the end of the year, start building a portfolio with a bit of pro bono work for small non-profits.
- To keep posting about and discussing politics, even though it’s sometimes rather depressing. I’ve taken a partial vacation from this since the election, trying to recover from a politics overdose during the months leading up to November. It’s important, however, both to stay informed and to speak one’s mind.
- Manage my time more effectively.
- Save more money every month.
- Keep more than one of my New Year’s resolutions.
Anyone else have some resolutions to share? Perhaps I could establish some kind of resolutions pact with a few friends, with us guilting and prodding positively motivating one another to keep our respective promises. Anyone game?
(Props: Bibi’s Box, for making me aware of the resolution meme)

So, was my fault?
BTW, good resolutions.

Hi Adam,
I was visiting via your comment on my blog! I don’t know if this will actually help KEEP the resolutions, but it might make it more fun. A friend of mine helped cook it up:
