IE7 Wishlist
The developers of Internet Explorer have asked to receive feedback on features and fixes for the new version. Here’s my top five:
- Complete and correct support for CSS 2.1 and lower
- Complete and correct support for HTML 4.01 (I’m not holding my breath for XHTML)
- Complete and correct support for the PNG image format, including 32-bit PNGs with alpha channels
- Greater separation between the browser and the operating system — excessive integration is the source of too many serious security problems
- Tabbed browsing
(Props: Ordered List)

A tiny little thing which has fustrated me all morning is
line-height. IE currently seems to include subscript text when rendering this. It should be from baseline to baseline and be independent of subscript and superscript. I know it’s nowhere near the top of the listy of things which need to be fixed, but it’s a real nuisance in a page full of scientific terms.Comment by David Owens — May 10, 2005 @ 9:30 am
Here’s my wish list for IE7 to have:
1. Adding Themes & Skins Capability.
2. Built-in Media Player that can play any type of media. “Similer to what the MSN Browser has”
3. Built-in Notepad for taking notes “Opera has that.”
4. Faster Loading.
