Pornographer Sues Google for “Theft” of Nude Photos

A recent Perfect 10 coverMen’s magazine Perfect 10 has sued Google for allegedly infringing upon its copyrights by displaying the mag’s nude pics in Google Image Search results.

This is an obvious grab for money. Google clearly states in its help center that there are ways to keep the Google indexer from snapping up your images. I use the technique myself; it’s not hard. Google also provides recourse for those who feel their copyrights have been infringed upon, by providing a way to notify Google and get your pictures removed from Google without resorting to a lawsuit.

Norm Zada, founder of Perfect 10, claims that Google’s indexing and display of sexually explicit images is part of a big conspiracy to draw web traffic and convert it into millions of dollars worth of advertising revenue. Never mind that SafeSearch is enabled by default, blocking such adult content. Clearly, what Zada is most interested in is those advertising millions.

Jessica Alba Attains a Deeper Hotness

Jessica Alba, on the cover of Rolling StoneJessica Alba is a hottie. Everyone knows this. Still, I paid her little mind until last night. “Dark Angel” was lame and derivitive (and her acting awful), and her movie choices have been less than great (though I’m witholding judgment on Sin City). Fairly or not, I judge actors not just on their performances, but also on my opinion of the parts they choose. Alba just didn’t seem that interesting to me, great body or no.

Last night, while looking for supporting dirt for my post on the Cruise–Holmes fiasco, I ran across a post on Defamer that linked to an Alba interview in Rolling Stone. In the article, she talks about the perils of being exceedingly gorgeous in Hollywood (typecasting), jokes wearily about the kind of scripts she gets (“[They all] start ‘Tawnya is in the shower. The water streams down her naked, perky breasts.’”), and speaks shrewdly and openly about her plans for the future of her career.

It turns out that Jessica Alba is more than just a hottie. Evidently she’s also a smart, level-headed, no-nonsense hottie. And man, there is just nothing sexier than a combination like that.

P.S. This has been the innagural post of the Sex & Gender category. Are you as amazed as me that it took almost two years to get one of those? What was I thinking?

A gallery of screen captures from video games in which things have accidentally lined up in such a way as to appear rather (*ahem*) suggestive. Hilarious and slightly disturbing. Personal faves are Kirby’s Dreamland and Lineage 2.

Thanks are due to Redsugar for pointing me here.
