A centerpiece of the college campus where I work — the steps that lead up the hill to our administration building — is being demolished and replaced this summer (2004). Installed in 1910, they've cracked and weathered beyond repair. This is a milestone event in the history of the college, and I've decided to document the demolition and reconstruction here.
